Yes Glen, It Is Time For A Change

Well, now that Glen Sather has managed to shove the blame for his failings upon someone else yet again, I figured it might be good to look at just what he has done. Tom Renney came in just prior to the lockout to finish off a terrible season, and then guided the franchise through the "new" NHL and into the playoffs three straight years. If/when John Tortorella fails to bring in a even playoff team this year he will be let off the hook. But no Cup by 2012? Let's hope that Sather is the one to take the fall then ...

Thanks for reliving some of these nightmares for me Scotty. I actually had conveniently forgotten about some of them. I would say overall sathers trades by far has been his best work: jagr, avery, dumping deadwood for picks. But the FA signings and our draft picks have been BRUTAL. I think we should have given Umberger a chance a few yrs ago. We also failed to sign young FAs Wheeler and Brunnstrum this summer. I think our only hope for near future is that somehow Drury Gomez Rozy or Redden have a big playoff and we can dump their $ in offseason. Jimmy

I often wonder, with some of the redunkulous contracts, if either the players or their agents have some very naughty photos of Sather?

I'm happy, no elated for Torts, to be on the bench, excited about the fire and brimstone to come!

I have to say, certainly a horrid bunch of moves. But trading Anson Carter to Washington for Jaromir Jagr and cash has to be his greatest move with the Rangers.

He traded Ward for Mara as well in 2006, masking his 2006 free agent class a total bust as he traded both of them either during or after taht season. and this putz has a lifetime job...

I still think that the Jaromir Jagr era made this team "uncoachable." He played pretty well for us, and worked out better than aquisitions such as Bure, Holik, and Lindros. But the lasting effect leaves much to be desired. The youngsters seemed to play well alongside Jagr, though I think Prucha tried too hard to please him. But, he's also the reason Slats went out and got two guys like Gomez and Drury...I don't know.

I just watched a few clips of interviews that Torts has done. He belongs here in New York. This is going to be a trip. Hope it works out well.

1. The Rangers are about "making the playoffs," not winning the Stanley Cup. So that, at this time every year we are in danger of seeing yet another short-term patching deal, that is, young, upside talent for mediocre. old, over-priced rentals.

2. I boil everytime Fats goes out and gets a Reitz, a Bell, a Dupuis, a Strudwick, an Ozolinch, etc. Always there is junk on the market and this moron grabs it - for the specific purpose of using these old bricks to block the advancement of the Anisimov's and the Sauer's of the world. This brain-dead old cow thinks our farm system, which he built, is virtually worthless. That tells you how inept and contray he is, like nothing else.
