Bashing Brash, Day 5

As I mentioned Monday, I am posting some Donald Brashear YouTubage this week.

This week's final selection is still fresh in our minds, and yet was somehow easily ignored by Glen Sather and you defenders out there. Witness the latest egregious act by the animal:

Well, wasn't that fun viewing? Certainly a solid way to cap off a week of lowlights from the lowlife. Hopefully this will be the last we will see of Donald's dastardly acts; I don't want to have a regular feature here bashing Brash this fall. But we don't always get what we want now, do we?

Get over it. Brash is a Ranger. Personally, I'd rather have the guy on our side than playing against us. Brash scares other players because he is mean, unpredictable, and can fight anyone. That's exactly what you want if you have a fragile superstar like Gaborik. Guys will think twice before roughing up Gaborik because they'll fear a cheap shot by Brashear. That's how it worked with Dave Semenko and Marty McSorley while they protected Gretzky. That's hockey. Stop whining.

I'm with you Scotty. I think it's disgusting. He has no place on this team.

Scotty, I love ya, but you need to get over it. I guarantee you will have one good thing, or one perfect left hook at the right guy, where you congratulate the guy by season's end.

He's wearing BlUE....he is there for a role, a need, a deterrent. If Sid crosby became a leading Ranger, would you continue to call him Cindy? I would think not.

Let's move on and kick some ass (and maybe through the use of Brashear)!

TDR - I've actually had that conversation before with Pens fans, I would still call Crosby Cindy if he was a Ranger because he acts like a girl. And the only thing I will congratulate Brash for is if he manages not to get arrested for whatever criminal act he commits ... he is a headcase and it is only a matter of time before he does something else.

ive been brashear neutral for a while, saying "let's just wait until the season starts" but seeing this clip for the first time in a long time fills me with rage. totally unprovoked.

but the way i see it is that, you don't have to like what he has done, or the inevitable suspension or two he will get in his time here. you don't have to like the way he embarasses the fans and the team. but i'd much prefer to have him embarass us a little bit than have gaborik be a waste of cap space because he's playing no more than 30 or 40 games a season.

damn Scotty....get over it!

you act like Satan himself has come and signed with the Rangers.

he's better than Orr and he's still an intimidating player.

you are acting like a 10 year old girl who didn't get her way.

it's over, done with, and you can't do anything about it.

wait til the first time he destroy's Colton Orr...you'll love him then.

also Scotty...how exactly is Brash a "head case"?

he is far from it. he's not ryan hollweg, he's not chris simon, he's not jarko ruutu.

he is respected around the league and has been a leader in every locker room he's been in. i'm disappointed that he's not back in DC this year, as he had a great influence on the team and was loved by the players.

he wore the 'A' for a reason.

Scotty Hockey said...

Yeah, that reason was because Chris Clark was out with injury and the team didn't have enough players out of puberty ...

And Brash can destroy anyone in the league, I will still boo him. Classless animal doesn't belong in the NHL, no matter how hard he punches. He is like late-career Mike Tyson - immensely powerful, totally incontrollable and not someone you want to pay to watch.
