Islanders vs. Devils: A No-Win Situation

On Monday I was enlisted by the Long Island Press' hockey writer to take some photos at the Islander game and, with his blessing, I'm sharing some of the shots here for your consumption. It was a no-win situation for a Ranger fan such as myself but, to be honest, I was hoping the Devils would win sheerly because I loathe the Isles more and they will be battling us for a low playoff seed in a few months. So what happens? The Isles outworked the Devils all over the ice, Zach Parise disappeared and Mmmmaaarrrtttyyy was pulled as the Isles shut Jersey out 4-0. Typical. But it still was a pleasure to shoot and I am thankful for having the opportunity!

I share your ambivalence about who to root against in this match-up, but I must take sides with the Islanders. As much I have hated them since becoming a NYR fan, and before the Devils even existed, there is no person I loathe more on this planet than Brodeur. I take no greater pleasure than watching that fat, cocky SOB lose. Except maybe watching him sustain a career-ending injury.

And great pics, BTW. How did you sneak down onto the ice? ;)

I'm a little disappointed that you didn't plant yourself in Rick D's five-hole. OPPORTUNITY SQUANDERED.

i hate both teams as well, but as a resident of the dirty jerz, i took the side of the fishsticks. also, rick dipietro got me a shutout on my fantasy team so that was nice.

plus, i agree with DB as it was awesome watching fatso the flopper get pulled
