Yeah Sean!

For those who don't read the Rangers board (and I don't blame you), that man above is Sean Avery. Apparently he spent much of the third period hanging out up in the blue seats (section 420) signing autos, watching the game and talking to fans. That's just fantastic. Is there any wonder he has become a fan favourite here? Here's to hoping that he comes back with a vengeance and that he's resigned in the offseason ...

Scotty...thanks for posting this...I love the guy, the fans love him -- he creates a motivated Rangers team (impressive, even off the ice). If I could bottle up some of that devotion and energy (albeit negative)....

Amongst all of the negative posts about the team - including my own - he provides positive energy (Avery positive = an oxymoron).

Cannot wait for him to get back on the ice.

1) Wow, that IS a great gesture for a player to go up to 'slum it' with the lower paying customers. Especially since all he had to do was sit in the press box and eat pretzels
2) Time for your GM to step up and sign this guy to an extension

So no truth to the Page 6 rumor that he was up there in Sect. 420 rounding third base with Elisha Cuthbert?

This proves this guy is for real. He is in touch. I guarantee that when he comes back this week the Rangers amazingly start finding the back of the net. HEART!

Avery makes me think of the famous exchange from Slapshot:

"They're folk heroes!" "They're criminals!" "Well, most folk heroes started out as criminals"

I'm not sure why he does this.

Fox News said that Avery is now slumming it with one of the Olsen Twins. Not quite Cuthbert, but definitely the pay-day he didn't receive from Sather.

Domi, depending on how he plays Saturday, I may just steal that as the Slap Shot quote of the week ...
