I think it is much too early to judge if Sather once again dropped the ball or not. Just because Shanahan scored a 5 on 3 power play goal, in his FIRST game of the season, is no reason to think he could have saved the Rangers pathetic power play. Lets see how it plays out the rest of the way. He can either continue to produce the rest of the season for the Devils or he can begin to look every bit the 40 year old player he is. Again, it is just too early to make the decision wether or not Sather made another mistake, in his long list of mistakes at the helm of our beloved Rangers.
I am Ranger fan and season ticket holder who is more than a little obsessed with hockey. The first thing I can remember is watching a Ranger game with my dad, listening to him yell "Shoot the puck Barry!" I loathe the Islanders, hate everyone else in the Atlantic and despise Mmmaarrrttttyyyy and Cindy. While I am a objective journalist in real life (seriously), this is NOT a media site and is kept quite far from my profession; it is simply an outlet for me to let loose my opinions of the Blueshirts - very distinctly Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. My Ranger rantings and ravings have appeared on (or been linked to) such notable sites as the New York Times, Puck Daddy, Deadspin and NBC's Pro Hockey Talk - and I can't thank them enough. Comments and criticism are always welcome within the boundaries of good taste; feel free to e-mail me at TrueBlueFan329@gmail.com. And you should follow me on Twitter: @ScottyHockey.
All photos on this site were culled from around the web unless specified as being taken by me - that means I point out that I took the shot, put a sig on it or it's up on my Flickr page. The majority of game pics come from Yahoo! Sports, who in turn picks up Getty and AP more often than not.
I have resolutely kept ads off of Scotty Hockey; if you feel the need to spend money, please donate it to:
