That was a great hit. Poor Anisimov looked like he needed the smelling salts. It looked like one of the Rangers wanted retribution for that hit on Anisimov. There shouldn't be any payback for a clean hit. I hate seeing players try to start a fight after a clean hit. It's hockey. Hits are part of the game.
Dude got wrecked. I saw that coming as soon as AA got the puck. I cringed before it happened. Too bad he didn't.
As Anonymous said, there should be no retribution for a clean hit. It was just about as clean as you'll see. Didn't leave his feet and elbows tucked. Just a straight hit to the chest.
Good for Stuart. Bad for Anisimov. Hope he learns from that.
I was their and let me tell you it gave the whole crowd chills. And soon after that hit the momentum shifted to the Red-wings and the rangers could never recover. I'm losing more faith in them everyday.
Until they start wining some games and showing toughness I'm giving hockey and that team a break. It was a great game but painful to watch and think about even 2 days after

I am Ranger fan and season ticket holder who is more than a little obsessed with hockey. The first thing I can remember is watching a Ranger game with my dad, listening to him yell "Shoot the puck Barry!" I loathe the Islanders, hate everyone else in the Atlantic and despise Mmmaarrrttttyyyy and Cindy. While I am a objective journalist in real life (seriously), this is NOT a media site and is kept quite far from my profession; it is simply an outlet for me to let loose my opinions of the Blueshirts - very distinctly Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. My Ranger rantings and ravings have appeared on (or been linked to) such notable sites as the New York Times, Puck Daddy, Deadspin and NBC's Pro Hockey Talk - and I can't thank them enough. Comments and criticism are always welcome within the boundaries of good taste; feel free to e-mail me at TrueBlueFan329@gmail.com. And you should follow me on Twitter: @ScottyHockey.
All photos on this site were culled from around the web unless specified as being taken by me - that means I point out that I took the shot, put a sig on it or it's up on my Flickr page. The majority of game pics come from Yahoo! Sports, who in turn picks up Getty and AP more often than not.
I have resolutely kept ads off of Scotty Hockey; if you feel the need to spend money, please donate it to:

I was there, too. I was screaming it was a head shot. I was wrong. Apparently the throat area is upper body, not head. Learn something new every day!
