Peepin' Foes: Toronto Maple Leafs

Didn't I just see you here? After yesterday's win over the Ducks, the Rangers are right back in action tonight at the Garden, facing an Original Six opponent - the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Where We Are: Four in a row bay-beeeee. Much like last season, the Rangers have leapt out of the gates. Who knows how long they can keep the momentum going?

Where They Are: Winless. Toronto is 0-3-1 and their savior Jonas Gustavsson is out with a groin injury. And they face us twice this week.

Who To Watch For: I heart Luke Schenn. And now he has Islip's own Mike Komisarek riding shotgun, alongside Francois Beauchemin and our old friend Garnet Exelby. Offensively they have a lot of young horses looking to find their way with the pony Ponikarovsky now the grizzled veteran (along with good soldier Jamal Mayers). That's sad. Mikhail Grabovski is underrated but incapable of carrying a team, Nik Kulemin may grow into a stud but isn't there yet and preseason start Viktor Stahlberg has yet to click now that the games count. Oh, and Phil Kessel is still out. Nyeh, nyeh.

What To Watch For: The Rangers to keep rolling. If Hank comes out hot, it should be no problem. However, winless teams eventually pull it together and step up their game so they could very well do it against us, especially with Brian Burke and Ron Wilson snapping the reins. If the Blueshirts play down to their opponent - as they are apt to do - a Monday night let down could be in order.

What We'll (Hopefully) See: Another win. A warm reception for Colton Orr. Sean Avery to get an apology from Jason Blake. The Ranger power play to keep working and abuse Toronto, seeing as they allowed three goals with the man advantage in the loss to the Pens. Pittsburgh outshot them 14-2 in the first period - not unlike our 13-1 yesterday against the Ducks - so a quick deluge of shots would be nice to batter Toskala into obscurity.

Also Check Out: Down Goes Brown, Toronto Mike, the Bitter Leaf Fan (aren't they all?) and personal fav Pension Plan Puppets. PPP is probably one of the top-five best team-specific blogs out there covering our fair sport so definitely check out their corner of SB Nation.

I wonder how the Garden will react to a highly-likely Brashear Orr fight. Rangers will win 4-2 and Orr will beat down Brashear for taking his roster spot.

I'd love to see that.

Hey Scotty did you hear that Brashear had his wife/girlfriend and his son handing out little gloves w his number and signature on them in some of the sections last night? Many fans are eating it up, but I think it's kinda pathentic. I'm tired of Torts and now the media trying to push Brashear on us. Have you noticed on the rangers home page after every game they mention that Brash had a shot on goal? They didn't go in so what is the point in mentioning them? They don't mention every other players failed shots on goal. The point is they are trying to market him to us Rangers fans.

I did not hear that. Weak. Just like him.
